11 Essential Weight Loss Tips – From Diet and Exercise to Lipodissolve Injections

September 1st, 2011

There are as many ways to as there are people with different body types and eating habits. Nevertheless, some of the more tips include:

1) Eat breakfast. Yes, it’s boring, and advice you’ve already heard from your mom, but skipping breakfast only leads to increased caloric intake later in the day as you attempt to get your blood sugar back on track. Rushed in the morning? Pack a “breakfast bag” the night before and eat it on your way to work. You’ll feel better, guaranteed.

2) Turn off the TV. TV watching burns almost no calories, plus it bombards you with images of people with perfect bodies juxtaposed with advertising images of high fat foods.

3) Manage your stress. Although the jury is still out on the direct link between stress and body mass, we do know that spending more time in the throes of the “flight or fight” response produces a hormonal flood in our bodies that makes our metabolism of food less effective.

4) Make peace with your body. Don’t think of dieting as an “assault” on your fat or a way to fix aspects of your figure that you don’t like. Think of dieting as nurturance and work on accepting yourself, even if you’re not yet satisfied with your health.

5) Keep a food log. Although dieting is a little more complicated than “calories in, calories out” you can’t really address your food consumption until you have a clear idea of what you are actually eating every day.

6) Keep an exercise log and add a few steps to your everyday life, every day. There are lots of simple ways to increase activity without being tormented. A simple act such as parking further from your destination instead of circling the parking lot to be as close as possible can have a positive impact on your health — and your gas consumption!

7) Address emotional eating. Break the cycle of emotional eating by finding other ways to sooth unruly emotions.

Eat to increase metabolism. High fiber foods take longer to digest and therefore help both with blood sugar regulation and feeling fuller longer.

9) Beware of fat removal alternatives. Do you really need to lose weight for health reasons, or are you simply frustrated with certain aspects of your physical appearance? If you’re troubled by extra fat deposits on the thighs, behind your arms, and “love handles,” you may have heard of an anti-fat injection called lipodissolve. Lipodissolve, sometimes referred to as injection lipolysis, is relatively non-invasive and involves injecting fat-dissolving drugs into the body to remove small volumes of fat. But you should do your homework on this treatment. The drugs used, phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate, are not FDA approved.

In fact, in response to media inquiries, the FDA has warned, “Consumers need to know that this is a buyer-beware situation. These are unapproved drugs for unapproved uses and we can’t guarantee consumers’ safety.” If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. For example, while it might be tempting to try lipo-dissolve or other types of “fat dissolving” injections that promise to make fat disappear with just a few “pin prick” procedures, check out the safety record, FDA approval status and look for cold hard facts about how effective they are. Pretty pictures don’t count.

10) Change your shopping habits. Shop the outside aisles first (where the fruit and vegetables are located) and don’t go shopping when you’re hungry or feeling particularly deprived. If you have trouble resisting the call of sugary treats and extra loaves of fresh baked bread at the grocery store, try one of the online shopping services offered by large supermarkets. It will make it easier to stick to your list, saving you not just calories but money too.

11) Get support. We are social creatures, and eating together is a strong bond. Seek out friends who are also concerned with health and nutrition.

Lose 40 Pounds In 2 Months – Burn The Fat, Not The Muscle!

September 1st, 2011

According to The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) a is 1-2 pounds per week. Faster weight loss diets are not healthy because you don’t want to lose muscle, right? I know that you often see headline like ‘lose 10 pounds in 11 days’, ‘lose 10 pounds in a week’ and ‘lose 15 pounds in 4 days without any exercise’. Headlines like that are so frequent that they must state the truth. Well, they don’t, instead they mislead you.

If you lose 10 pounds in a week it is not healthy for you, let’s divide your weight loss into categories of water, muscle and fat. A of 10 pounds means that you have lost approximately 2 pounds of fat, 4 pounds of water and 4 pounds of lean muscle. Did you know that? What happens when you stop dieting? You will gain the (remember that the body consists of 70% water and it strives to be well-balanced). You lost 2 pounds of fat which is great but you also lost 4 pounds of lean muscle-mass. It is a lot easier to gain weight fast and that weight gain consists of fat because it takes longer to build muscle-mass.

Basically, in the long run, you have lost 10 pounds only to gain them again and you also replaced 4 pounds of muscle with 4 pounds of fat. Seems like a good idea? That doesn’t even have to be answered.

Let’s go back to what the ACSM writes in their guidelines. A healthy weight loss should be no greater than 1-2 pounds per week, 1-2 pounds of fat that is. You do not want to lose muscle and you do not want to lose water.

If you want to lose 40 pounds of fat it should take at least 20 weeks. Losing the weight in fat takes time because your body can only burn so much fat at a time. Losing 2 pounds every week means that you should use a diet that increases the metabolism of fat.

There are lots of diets that do this and in every other ad you see they tell you that exercise is not a necessity for this to work. Let me tell you, our body is the product of thousands of years of evolution and it tries to improve through every generation. If you want to keep muscle-mass it means that you have to use the muscle you have or else it will be metabolized into energy instead of your fat. The body wants to keep storage of energy and that energy is stored in fat. The body does this to have a reserve in case of a starvation period. On the other hand, if you exercise during your diet, your body knows that you already need the muscle-mass you have and instead it uses the fat for energy. Makes sense?

A Fun and Healthy Way to Lose Weight – Enrolling In a Weight Loss Spa Vacation

September 1st, 2011

According to experts, diet and exercise are the best solutions to a . Diet and exercise require discipline and determination. Without them, your path to weight loss may be in vain. For some people, maintaining a and exercise program is hard. Not only do they have difficulty resisting unhealthy foods, but they also struggle with their daily exercise program. Hence, some weight loss centers are now organizing a weight loss plus spa vacation center that allows people to relax and at the same time.

About weight loss spas

Basically, a is a center that offers weight loss programs such as weight loss management. The main goal of attending a vacation is to achieve a healthy weight and lifestyle.

Fat camp?

Most weight loss spas offer three to four-week weight loss programs wherein you will have to stay in the center to achieve maximum results. Weight loss spa’s vacation packages are similar to that of attending a “fat camp” or “fit farm” hoping to achieve a specific weight for you in a target date.

Weight loss philosophy

Attending a weight loss spa vacation does not simply involve , but it also involves understanding a healthy body and a healthy diet. Most weight loss spas follow the philosophy of balancing diet and exercise.

For them, permanent weight management encompasses eight areas:

1. Recognizing how your body balances

2. Developing a pattern of eating that works well for you

3. Understanding overeating

4. Listening to and trusting your internal hunger signals

5. Learning your body mass

6. Developing an effective exercise program

7. Doing the best you can each day

8. Practicing self-acceptance

The aim of attending a weight loss spa vacation is to develop an innate desire for losing weight, through consultation, group discussions, and intimate sharing of experiences. Most weight loss spas believe that weight loss can best be achieved as a group, because this allows for teamwork when it comes to battling obesity.

A different approach

Meanwhile, the Hippocrates Health Institute is also offering a weight loss spa vacation to interested individuals. HHI has a different approach to losing weight, particularly promoting an enzyme-rich, vegetarian lifestyle.

Weight loss programs

After enrolling in a weight loss spa, you will be partnered with a health professional that you will be working closely with. The aim of this is to develop a highly-personalized diet and exercise program that matches your preference and your pace.

Aside from that, most spa centers also provide you with a strict that you have to follow. In HHI, for example, you will be presented with a vegan meal that you have to strictly adhere. You will also be monitored regularly when it comes to your weight loss progress.

Where the fun comes in

But what makes a weight loss spa vacation more attractive to many people is its additional features. Most weight loss spa vacation centers offers facilities for relaxation including gentle aerobics, fun exercises, massage, homeopathy, juice-fastening and cleansing, nature-trail walks, daily health lectures, and use of modern therapy facilities.

Reminders

Weight loss spas are definitely a fun and healthy option for losing weight. But before enrolling in one, you have to take precaution as well. There are some weight loss spas that offer fad diets or quick fixes to losing weight. This is unhealthy for you and may not help you achieve optimum results. Hence, when choosing weight loss spas, it is best to understand the programs and the philosophy of the center.

Also, choose a weight loss spa that matches your personal preference. If you are willing to go vegan to lose weight, then go to HHI. But if you prefer sticking to meat, then find other weight loss spas that allows meat in the diet. Remember, each weight loss spa has a different approach to weight loss. It is important that you understand these approaches first before enrolling.

Not without cost

If you are thinking of enrolling in a weight loss spa, you have to be prepared for the costs. A weight loss spa is not cheap. Hence, you have to be prepared to bring out the money for this.

Herbal Weight Loss with Green Tea Extract

September 1st, 2011

These days, there is a great need for overweight Americans to lose those excess pounds. Being healthy would not only lead them to have a healthier lifestyle but it will also literally lighten their load, and improve their overall well-being.

There is a long list of dieting options available. There are exercise programs, exercise machines, dietary supplements, dietary food and drinks, – there are even soaps which claim to help you lose pounds while you bathe.

One other available option to shed off those unwanted pounds is to go herbal. A very effective remedy is green tea extract.

Herbal weight loss products have been in great demand for people who want to the natural way. However, when you take herbal supplements for weight loss, you would have to wait for a longer time for the results because of the more subtle effects of medicines which came from plants and natural herbs.

Here are some herbal weight loss options that you might want to consider:

1. Herbal weight loss products

There are a lot of herbal weight loss products available in the market now. You can check out the Internet and you will find a lot of herbal and products.

Be careful, however, as there are some products which claim to be safe and natural because they are herbal, but some actually have side effects because of non-extensive research on the effects of these products.

Here are some ingredients and chemicals which make up some herbal weight loss products that you should watch out for, as they might have harmful effects to your health:

> Senna. This is an herbal laxative. Senna is a main ingredient in weight loss teas, and it works by stimulation the colon. The downside effect of this herb is dehydration. It can also lead to colon problems and can become addictive. Some people, when addicted, are unable to perform bowel movements without it, so watch out.

> Chromium picolinate. This is a synthetic compound found in herbal weight loss products. Chromium is a nutrient which helps regulate blood-sugar level. However, this ingredient, when taken in high doses, may cause damage in the chromosomes. It can also lead to dehydration.

> St. John’s wort. This supplement increases the production of a chemical in the brain. If not used properly, it may cause eye and skin sensitivity, mild gastrointestinal distress, fatigue and itching.

Although a lot of herbal products claim to be safe and natural, it is better to scrutinize the ingredients and research about the effects of the product itself before going for these herbal dietary pills.

2. Green Tea.

Herbal Remedies – Green Tea Extract

Green tea has always been known to have several health benefits, but who knew that it could contribute to weight loss as well?

A recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition show that green tea extract can increase metabolism and fat oxidation of the body. In theory, scientists believe that the weight loss benefits of green tea extracts are due to their caffeine content but the results of the study show otherwise as they discovered that green tea extracts have weight loss benefits beyond that of caffeine.

In their study, the researchers administered alone the same amount of caffeine as that in green tea extracts but found that it did not make any significant changes in the body’s overall energy expenditure. This led them to conclude that green tea extracts have ingredients in them that actively interact with each other, promoting increased metabolism and fat oxidation that lead to weight loss.

Further findings indicated that a certain compound found in green tea extracts might be the ingredient that causes weight loss. These green tea extract compounds called Flavonoids may alter the way the body uses norepinephrine, a hormone that monitors how calories are burned. When flavonoids interact with other green tea extract ingredients, more calories are burned thus contributing to weight loss.

Another ingredient that actively contributes to the weight loss benefits of green tea extracts is the compound catechin polyphenols. These compounds also interact with other green tea extract ingredients in order to promote weight loss by fat burning and thermogenesis (a process of losing energy by daytime heat).

The great thing about the weight loss benefit of green tea extracts is that it does not have any adverse side-effects. Unlike other herbal products like ephedra and prescription drugs for obesity, green tea extract does not increase the speed of heart rates or raise blood pressure. In this regard, green tea extract is an effective and safer alternative to other weight loss products which may cause harm to the user.

The study conducted by the University of Geneva on the weight loss benefit of green tea extract implicated that green tea extract can also help thyroid patients. According to dietitian Lynn Moss, M.S., R.D., green tea extract is a healthier choice for people with thyroid who may be too sensitive to stimulants. Green tea extract can promote weight loss by increasing metabolism without over stimulating the adrenal glands.

A common beverage all throughout Asia, green tea has recently gained popularity in the West. Further researches were conducted to identify other health benefits of green tea extracts aside from weight loss. It was found that certain green tea extract compounds can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and even ulcers.

Studies show that intake of green tea, or green tea extracts burns extra calories. Also, green tea with caffeine can increase fat burning by up to 40% thereby reducing fat.

This is one good option for those who want to lose weight. In a study done, people who took green tea were found to lose 2 to 3 times more weight than those who did not drink green tea.

These results show that green tea is a natural product for the treatment of obesity. Thus, it also makes for a healthier dietary option, not to mention the good effects that it has on the body as compared to caffeine. A cup of tea gives an immediate energy lift without the side effects of caffeine.

3. Organic food.

In Wichita, Kansas, organic food has found its way to more homes and restaurants. Organic food devotees believe that consuming organic goodies help their bodies as well as the environment.

A person who buys organically raised eggs and vegetables claim to be healthier, and they are not spending money on doctors and prescriptions as these keep them healthier and away from the hospital. This could also be an option for weight watchers, as organic food is known to be kinder to your weight than chemically-processed food products.

4. Caffeine.

Coffee provides an energy boost to increase fat burning. Caffeine also provides a likelihood to be active, which in turn increases your rate of calorie burn.

5. Immortality Herb

This herb, whose scientific name is Gymnostemna Pentaphyllum, is known to have the following benefits:

> increases healthy blood flow
> reduces artery blocks
> aids healthy blood pressure
> increases the rate of fat burning
6. Apple Cider Vinegar

There are pills and food supplements whose main ingredient is apple cider vinegar. Here are the benefits of taking this herbal remedies option:

> weight loss
> improved cholesterol level
> improved high blood pressure
> helps prevent rheumatoid arthritis

A Virus Made Me Fat?

September 1st, 2011

Research has finally proven what we have wanted to hear for years. It isn’t junk food that makes you fat or laying on the couch or the lack of exercise-no it is a virus?

Researchers are claiming that a virus is the cause of obesity. Dr. Magdalena Pasarica, M.D., Ph.D., of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center has an explanation as to why obesity affects many people worldwide. She said it’s a contagious virus called human adenovirus or Ad-36.

Apparently AD-36 induces storage fat. She does say that they do not believe the virus is the only cause of obesity, but studies show stronger evidence that the virus could be the cause.

Studies are still being completed since not all people with the virus develop obesity. “We would ultimately like to identify the underlying factors that predispose some obese people to develop this virus and eventually find a way to treat it,” Pasarica said.

The research was conducted by obtaining adult stem cells from fat tissue of people who had undergone liposuction. Stem cells are a type of master cell that exist in an immature form and give rise to more specialized cells.

After about a week of growth in tissue culture, most of the virus-infected adult stem cells developed into fat cells, whereas the non-infected stem cells did not, the researchers say.

Previous studies have shown AD-36 increased fat in chickens, mice and other nonhuman animals.

It is said that the virus then tells the cells to produce a lot of lipids, or fats. The result: bigger fat cells — and more of them. Those infected with the virus are advised to double their exercise and dieting efforts.

So I am thinking it had to come from that little boy I kissed on the playground in kindergarten. It was downhill from there. Well what is done is done. I guess I will die an infected obese person. . . now where did I put those potato chips?

Losing Weight Will Make You Feel Better

September 1st, 2011

Maybe it’s the celebrity ideal of a “great” body that looks more like a walking skeleton than a healthy beauty or maybe it’s the frequent “fat” jokes made on TV and in movies. But most American adults–and even some adolescents–feel that they’ve got to start .

It’s true that about 65% of Americans are overweight, but they don’t have to aim to be stick-thin underweight waifs. Everyone has a different body type and different weight needs. The key to losing weight is to start losing weight the right way: with a balanced diet, a regular exercise routine, and the confidence to know that you’re beautiful at a healthy weight–which may be more than the size 2 diet commercials boast that their clients reach.

The first step to losing weight is to chuck those diet supplements in the trash. Go and meet with your doctor. He or she will tell you that the most effective way to start losing weight and to stay at a healthy weight is to change your diet and lifestyle. Eat better and be more active. That’s all you need to know to start losing weight!

Ask your doctor or a nutritionist to help you develop a diet that’s right for you. We all need a certain amount of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, protein, and dairy servings each day, but every body will react differently to food. Some people may start losing weight immediately on a low-carb diet while other may respond to a low-fat diet. The most important way to start losing weight is to have a professional help you discover your body’s dietary needs.

You can buy a lot of exercising equipment that can help you start losing weight at losingweight.com. Don’t just buy things randomly without knowing what you’re doing, though. If you can’t afford to go to a gym frequently to use their exercise equipment and have the help of a physical trainer, try to meet with a physical trainer at least once who can help you design a losing weight exercise regimen.

You don’t even always need extremely expensive exercise equipment to start losing weight, although they shouldn’t hurt. Still, why buy machines that claim they do magic to help you in only a few weeks? A physical trainer will explain that there are a lot of exercises you can do to start losing weight without the help of any exercise equipment, besides maybe a few weights to lift.

Just taking a walk during your lunch break can help you to start losing weight. Riding a bike or doing aerobics–these are all great ways to start losing weight that don’t involve large investments! Remember, exercise is an integral ingredient in your losing weight regimen. Diet alone can’t do the job, but diet and exercise combined are more effective than any “weight loss” supplement!

The most effective way of losing weight is to speak with your doctor and to meet with a certified nutritionist and physical trainer to design a diet and exercise routine personalized to your individual needs. There is no magic “one cure fits all” for losing weight and some losing weight aids can even be dangerous. Speak with your doctor and start eating well and exercising right and you’ll be losing weight before you know it!

Fat Burning Exercises

September 1st, 2011

Fat burning workouts are exercises that can burn loads of calories because of its high muscle involvement and also its high level of intensity. Sounds scary right? Well, don’t be. The exercises that we are going to discuss are some common exercises but the only thing that is different is that we are going to modify it a bit in the terms of resting period, speed and also the approach of doing it.

If you want a quick idea of how we can increase intensity, pay attention. You can increase intensity by increasing the workload or decreasing the rest between sets. Got it? It is all about increasing the heart rate.

Here are some quick tips of some fabulous calorie burning exercises.

Supersets

Supersets are a method used in weight training where by two apposing muscle group is worked back to back without rest. For example a standing bicep curl superset with a triceps press down. Then, take a short break not more that one minute and then continue with the second set.

Triset

This is an advanced method used by body builders in preparation of their contest. It used because of the high intensity and results it generates. Basically, a triset is three exercises done back to back to hit a large muscle group. It is usually used to exercise the quads, hamstrings, back and shoulders. For example, the shoulders have the front deltoid, the lateral deltoid and the rear deltoid. So the perfect example of a shoulder triset is bent over rear delt dumbbell raises, standing dumbbell raises and front dumbbell raises. All done back to back with no rest in between. This workout will really give your canon ball shoulders the shredded look!

Sprinting

It is called high intensity interval training or also known as wind sprints. You can read more about here. Basically, it is a short 20 minute very high intensity cardio workout that can burn lots of body fat even after the workout it self. Highly recommended!

RPM

RPM is an aerobic class designed by Less Mills. It is a high intensity cycling class which is also known as spinning. Using the specially designed bikes for high speed riding, specially created cosmic studio and qualified instructor, you can burn up to 700 calories in 45 minutes if done properly.

Circuit Training

Circuit training is one of the best methods for burning fat especially for individuals that have less time to spare and always in the go. You can read more about it here. The idea of circuit training is to get the benefit of training with weights and also the benefit of cardio. We need to train with weights to build muscle, increase strength and to increase metabolism. In the other hand, we need cardio to increase stamina and burn body fat. There for, with circuit training, which is an interval of cardio and weight training done back to back, one can really benefit from both worlds.

Long Slow Jog

Long slow jog is the conventional method that have been used for weight loss. This is a cardio workout that is done at 70 to 75 percent of max heart rate. The only set back is that it has to be done up to 45 minutes. You should not be out of breath in this exercise unlike sprinting. The reason behind this exercise is that by doing cardio at 70 to 75 percent of max heart rate, the body will tap into the fat cells and use more body fat as energy for the cardio instead of sugar, protein and muscle. This method definitely works, if you have the extra time.

Cardio done in the morning.

Cardio done in the morning is much better for fat burning because in the morning, the sugar levels in the body are very low. By doing cardio first thing in the morning, the body will use fat instead of sugar because there is no supply of sugar in the morning as the sugar have been used up at night. Not only that, by doing cardio in the morning, you will get the benefit of increased metabolism for the whole day. If you do your cardio at night, you will only benefit from the metabolism increase for the few hours before you go to bed. Not only that, you need to do extra minutes on cardio to burn of the sugar from lunch before tapping into the fat stores.

If you still not getting the results that you want, then get hold of a professionally designed fat burning program. This will help you skip the learning curve and straight into the details of how to .

For anyone who wishing to , a programme is a must. Settling for anything less than a healthy can lead you down the wrong path and you might find that you have more problems to deal with than being overweight.

One of the best thing you can do to find yourself a healthy weight loss programme is to first talk things over with your doctor or even a certified nutritionist or dietician. These proper individuals can give you the proper advice on what character of weight loss you need to follow in order to lose weight in a fit manner.

Though some people do follow the advice granted to them by these certified professional, most people incline to find that a healthy weight loss programme such as what is advised, takes too long a time to show any real results.

What happens if a person inevitably to go back to a full fledged fit diet for a health discipline Do they throw it all outside because it goes against what they have been consuming on a day-after-day basis for the last few years?

And more to the point, what happens when a person goes off this type of half fit diet? Do they keep the weight off permanently, or do they retrieve it back again nullifying all their hard work?

These are good questions that need to be answered and looked into if a person is looking at Using these means.

And though the more sensitive mental attitude would be to go with a healthy weight loss program alternatively of only a half healthy one, many people take instant satisfaction and are unwilling to spend the time and effort required to lose weight in a fit manner.

Burn That Fat–2 Secret Weapons to Guarantee Success!

September 1st, 2011

is hard enough for God’s sake… but when we’re operating in the dark it seems totally hopeless.

We need to understand why we’ve failed with our weight loss efforts in the past… and we need to learn how we can make weight loss easy so we can have permanent success.

I mean… why make this a struggle when it doesn’t have to be?

We need some special help… right?

So here are your secret weapons:

1. There are specific high “glycemic foods” that are keeping you overweight… your first weapon is learning what they are and how they do that.

2. Carbohydrate cravings are your biggest enemy. Your second secret weapon is the plan we will show you to overcome these cravings!

If you want to know exactly how to make this happen in the next five days then just click my link below… it’s all in my free book.

But let’s get on with the article:

Here’s a question you might be asking: “How come after a diet, I just seem to put all the weight back on again?

The sad reality of our times is that if you are chronically overweight, then its almost certain that you are on the North American diet most typified by the McDonald’s fast food meal… maybe “low in fat” these days, but bursting at the seams with highly processed carbohydrates and sugars.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a fish burger or a lean chicken burger… it’s the fries, the buns the desserts and the drinks that are doing you in! This doesn’t make you a bad person… it just means that, like the rest of us, you have been suckered in by the advertising.

Here’s why it’s so important for you to understand what’s happening to your body… the North American Diet has made your body insensitive to insulin and insulin is the key to successful weight loss and control of diabetes Type 2.

This is how it happens and why it’s so bad:

When you eat, the food in your stomach gets converted into glucose that moves into your bloodstream. This is the food that your brain, your muscles and your tissues need in order to survive and grow.

When glucose enters your bloodstream, your pancreas responds by releasing insulin into your blood. Insulin is needed to allow the glucose to enter your cells. There, it is broken down to produce the energy needed for your cells to work properly.

When your system is functioning normally, insulin will open the door to the cells to let the glucose produced from your food to enter; and it allows extra sugar to be stored as energy for future use. It can be stored in the liver, in the form of glycogen, or deposited in fat cells.

A diet high in processed carbohydrates (which contain very little fiber) continually spikes your blood sugar to very high levels in short periods of time which causes your pancreas to kick in a big shot of insulin to move this excess of sugar into your muscles etc.

Usually, way too much insulin is produced, so now your blood sugar levels drop below optimum. The brain panics and demands more glucose, you get carb cravings, so you reach for those carb rich foods again… and the game is on.

You quickly become addicted to carbohydrates… the craving takes you over and you have to eat.

This repeated cycle has several serious consequences. If you continue on this carb rich diet then, over time your muscles will become insulin intolerant and no longer accept the glucose, which then gets deposited as fat in your liver and around your stomach.

You have reached what is called “metabolic syndrome”.

You don’t increase your food intake (still carbohydrate rich foods) but you start to put on fat continuously, especially around your belly.

Eventually, your pancreas becomes exhausted and can’t produce enough insulin… and you have contracted Type 2 Diabetes. Now you need to begin insulin injections.

But wait…there’s good news… all of this can be reversed!

I can show you how to do this!

Weight Control Is The Way To Health

September 1st, 2011

Excessive body weight compounds many health problems. It stresses the heart, the muscles, and the bones. It increases the likelihood of hernias, hemorrhoids, gallbladder disease, and many other conditions. Excess weight makes breathing more difficult, slows you down, makes you less effective in personal encounters, and lowers your self-image. Fat people are hospitalized more frequently than people with normal weight. They have more surgical complications, more cases of breast cancer, more high blood pressure, more heart attacks, and more strokes.

Weight control is a difficult task. Fortunately, it becomes a little easier for seniors than for others. Maximum body weights are generally obtained between 45 and 64 years of age; after this most individuals do lose some weight. Excess weight is very seldom due to thyroid disease or other specific illness. For most of us the problem and the solution are personal, not medical. As with the other habits that change health, management of this problem begins with its recognition as a problem. Weight control requires continued attention. For those of us with a potential problem, the vigilance must be lifelong.

Increasingly, exercise is being seen as an important key to weight control. Part of every weight control program should be an exercise program. Obesity is not just the result of overeating. Obese people, when studied carefully, are found to move around less than other people and, therefore, to burn too few calories. Thirty-five hundred calories equals about a pound of body weight. If you take in 3,500 calories less than you burn, you lose a pound. If you take in 3,500 calories more than you burn, you gain a pound. If you want your horse to , you just give him less hay or exercise him more.

These are two important phases to weight control: the weight reduction phase and the weight maintenance phase. The weight reduction phase is the easier. Here the method you use to lose weight doesn’t matter very much, although you should check with your doctor if you plan to lose a large amount of weight quickly to make sure the diet you intend to use is a sound one. During the weight loss stage, many of your calories are provided by your own body fat and protein as they are being broken down, so you need little or no fat and much less protein in your diet during this period. Complex carbohydrates are important to most sound diets. Diets usually have a gimmick of some kind that encourages you and helps you to remember the diet.

Most people have some success in . If you set a target, tell people what you are trying to do, and stick with it for a while, you can probably lose weight. Remember that it has to go slowly, however, since even a total fast will cause true weight loss of less than a pound a day. Rapid changes in weight are generally due to loss of fluid. Because low-calorie diets tend to be lower in salt, the first few days of a diet give you a false sense of accomplishment as you lose some of the fluid that the salt was retaining in your body. Then, when the rate of weight loss slows down, you may think that the diet has failed. You have to be patient with the weight loss phase. A pound a week is a reasonable goal. This requires elimination of the equivalent of one day’s food each week.

The second phase is maintenance, maintaining the desired weight you have achieved. This is more difficult, and it requires constant attention. Weight yourself regularly and record the weight on a chart. Draw a red line at three pounds over your desired weight and keep your weight below the line, using whatever method works best for you. It is easier and healthier to make frequent small adjustments in what you eat than to try to counteract binges of overeating with dieting. Keep yourself off the dietary roller coaster.

Many people just can’t keep weight off no matter how hard they try. For some people, overweight is determined by their genes. If this is you, don’t feel guilty about your failure to lose weight. But you must work twice as hard to reduce all of your other health risks. You must find a way to exercise, eat less fat, and if you smoke, quit.
